How effective is amoxicillin for UTIs?

So this morning I went to the ER because I was having chest pains, but instead came out with everything all except that it looked like I had a UTI. The nurse practitioner prescribed me amoxicillin for 10 days every 12 hours. I guess it checks out because I feel an ache/pain in my vaginal area which I thought maybe it was muscular or my pubic bone (the discharge note said I had cystitis) since I had no burn, sting, or fog while urinating.

I’m scared that it won’t work and maybe it’s because of how bad my first UTI experience was. This is my third one ever. My first one didn’t really have the typical symptoms except for pelvis discomfort and then a huge drop-like spasm on my pelvis days later.

I remember they were testing me for sepsis and everything since my lactic was 2.6 and stuff, but thankfully the infection didn’t spread and was given cephalxin and it went away. I was almost admitted to the hospital.

I’ve never heard of amoxicillin being used for UTIs, is it effective? I searched up and saw others’ opinions and some say it didn’t work for them and they only got worse. I’m scared that’ll happen to me. I know I sound overdramatic and stuff but ever since I got my first infection I’ve been a bit traumatized from the situation and I’m scared of the infection not going away or the medication not working, which can further worsen it and may even lead to a kidney infection or sepsis.
