Slushy Spirits

Well, what a difference two weeks make after mostly striking out on the last hunting run.

Total Wine Centennial - Got there at open and was greeted with...absolutely nothing other than Willett Purple Top Bourbon, after hearing about all kinds of stuff dropping all over town this week (EHT BP, Weller SiB, Stagg, Blanton's SFTB, and yet another load of WA107). ECBP BS Rye A126 was sold out. They have also reduced the size of the bourbon aisle and moved the whiskey case around the corner. The bar area in the back has also been ripped out to install TVs or something, and the tequila aisle looks bigger now. Hmm.

The normal spirits guys were not there, and the guy working the desk was clearly irritated that there were a half dozen guys standing around. Finally, he headed to the back and came back with a cart loaded with a full case each of WA107, ER10, Blanton's, EHT SmB, and EHT Straight Rye. We were allowed to buy one of each, and I decided on just an EHT Straight Rye, which was $93 for me out the door; I've never had that one before. Asked if they had Stagg, got a blank expression in return. Later in the morning, I started getting Reddit DM tips from various hunters saying they were finding Stagg 25D at the Evans and Lakewood locations for $78 limit 1. Grrrr, that used to be $59. So Centennial almost certainly has some Stagg, but chose not to put it out. So I guess if you are in the area, try asking for it, but be warned that the associate was pretty grumpy.

Davidson's HR - A smorgasbord of absolutely nothing. There is now a single sticky note on the high-top desk that says, "Do not mess with the cases below." LOL

Heritage Arapahoe - They literally have multiple cases stacked up of the Penelope ALW 140.2pf for $140. Allocation corner has EHT SiB for $99, KC21 for $280, Remus VIII for $110, ER10 $44. Also, a ton of Bookers & Little Books, and of course MWND for $170, good luck with that. They also have a 4R Private Select for $99, OBSO, 10yr 7mos, about 107pf.

Highlands Wine Seller - Whoa, they have new shelves running the length of the store, instead of those cubbied sectional ones that were crossways. Much easier to rapidly scan the shelves now. The mini glass case is over in the barrel area, but it didn't have anything too crazy in it today. But the bundles are out, and there are some nice ones: ECBP BS Rye A126, Blanton's, EHT SmB, ETL, WA107 & Hancock's. The main bundled item was their Sazerac Rye pick, which is about $35, but some were with Bourbon County Stout aged in Parker Heritage's Rye barrels. All bundled bottles should be close to MSRP. Also, several cases of unbundled Fortaleza Blanco for $75 limit 1, and lots of Old Elk Cigar Cut for $40.

Bevy's Parker - Penelope ALW 140.2pf $150, HW Bourye $125, Caribou Crossing (didn't catch price), Old Forester non-pick BS Rye 132pf warehouse G8 $99. Pretty sure they got their Eagle Rock truck in based on what I saw on the shelf, but if they are going to do a drop, it's usually late morning or early afternoon on Fridays. It's definitely worth stopping by today if you are in the area, let me know if you get lucky!
