The person I love is anhedonic

Support Needed

Hello everyone, I am really emotional right now and hope I can convey what I’m feeling. I met a person a few years ago, we immediately clicked. he is cute, handsome, kind, gentle, tender… it was hard for me not to develop feelings. I told him I liked him, he said he was depressed and didn’t want a romantic relationship. I respected him. We got closer, months passed and my feelings grew into love. I told him, we talked, I thought we came to an understanding where he knew I accepted what he considered his flaws, and he told me he liked me too and cared too. I was so happy. Lots of depressive crisis after, some really heavy where he told me he didn’t care for me, we are still here in this limbo. I think things are ending, he doesn’t believe I care, he thinks I care for an image I have created in my mind of him, and neither he believes that I respect him for who he is, he is so scared of my expectations of me being hurt ‘cause he can’t give me anything. I am looking for sympathy, but most importantly for advice. If your partner is anhedonic what do you do to reassure him about his inability to feel love, and if you are anhedonic, what kind of reassurance do you like to have from you romantic partner?
