When are you supposed to switch decks while climbing ladder?

Everyone I talk to makes it sound like I should be one-tricking a deck for consistency, but if my pocket meta decides that deck isn't viable rn then I kinda have to swap it out.

How often should I be switching decks, and when should I make the call to swap?
