Feel confident and Greta in the moment at work, then fall apart emotionally at home afterwards.
I work customer service, I like my job actually. I’ve made some steps recently to start moving up tho. I get confident and speak well about my intentions at work. My coworkers love me and go out of their way to say how much they enjoy working with me and people have even said (without me prompting it) that I would be great at the new position if I went for it.
I asked for more hours in a different department so I could learn and be more prepared and knowledgeable if I got promoted.
This makes sense, I know I can handle it, I’m not getting any negative feedback, and I feel great about this decision when I’m at work and in the zone of the workplace.
Yet… when I get home, I freak out mentally. I start doubting my abilities and if I’m making the right steps. Eventually I’ll get to convincing myself I’m not doing anything crazy and the worst case of just not being chosen to move up isn’t even a bad outcome and not even close to being the end of the world for me.
Idk it just feels like I go from one extreme to the other and it’s exhausting and idk if anyone can relate to this.
I am diagnosed and medicated if that helps at all.
