I have realized that my favorite wow right now is old wow in retail

I have played since '04 but over the past decade have not played all that much. I do not have much time to game, so when I do I want it to be able to progress. I like the feel of the older wow's and enjoy the leveling experience a lot better than the newer expansions, but after playing classic I just don't have the time to play to really progress. I am all of level 25 after about 3 months of playing. I have tried retail and done the exiles reach quite a few times over the years. It then pops you out in a newer expansion so I have always just played those newer expansions for leveling characters. I don't love it, and it feels like no real character like the older zones, but I sort of just assumed that was the way it had to be.

I just made a new character and started in a normal starting zone. I made an OG class and started in the OG area. I am having a great time playing it this way. I still feel a little bit of the classic wow atmosphere while still leveling at a good pace.

If you are in the same position, which I know a lot of people who were playing in the early wow days are, then try it out! I didn't realize it was really even an option. I just assumed the older zones weren't really a viable questing area anymore since it always had just dumped me out into the newer zones.
