Education ≠ awareness apparently
So here’s the story. I recently went on a date with this guy. On paper, he seemed pretty impressive.. studied in the UK, well-spoken, good vocabulary, the whole package.
Conversation was flowing nicely… until it wasn’t.
At some point he started referring to nationalities using terms like “Kaling”, “Plipin”, and “Indon”. Just casually dropping them into the conversation like it was normal.
That was honestly the moment it clicked for me. For someone who’s supposedly well-educated and internationally exposed, it was a bit jarring. I’m not naive, I know those words exist and people use them.. but hearing them said so casually was a huge turn-off.
Instant deal breaker for me lol.
Curious what others think. Am I overreacting or would that raise a red flag for you too?
