Workload discussion

Hello all,

Im Team leader for maintenance team in Automotive production.

I'm supposed to have 8 technicians to cover 24/7 production which is already tight. I currently have 5..... Well 3 to be honest. Remaining 2 are placeholder contractors until we can get more technicians on board.

Golden rule in maintenance here is to have 80% of work time spent doing preventive maintenance and analysis of previous breakdowns and 20% for corrective maintenance (repair after breakdown)

We are currently running on 85-89% percent as firefighters.. no prevention is being done. No prep to shorten next breakdown and no root cause analysis for failures..i personally have over 40 hours of unpaid overtime since January.

I decided to quit and gave my notice.

Now im supposed to have an meeting on Monday with plant manager and engineering dept. Manager to discuss whole situation.. how would you go about this so i can get things better for remaining guys and get them a help they need?

Thanks
