Why can companies raise prices every year for “budgeting reasons” or the “changing economy” but have a record breaking net profit every year
How is this allowed? Like grocery prices are still on the rise where I am but the parent company that owns almost all grocery stores continuously has insane yearly profits?
Or Amazon who just laid off thousands of people to help their budget but then had their net income increase $20 billion between 2024 and 2025.
I understand prices going up due to things genuinely out of their control like supply and demand or crop shortages but everything else??? Like it just shouldn’t be allowed
