Buying Used Non-prescription G2/R1

I already know that the original owner has to do a ownership transfer, if I'm wanting to add prescription lens at a later time. Are there any precautionary tales, if I don't transfer the ownership and just use the glasses instead? I already know the warranty is non-transferable, but is there anything else I should be aware of? I'm only jumping on this opportunity, because the seller is selling both for $400.

In my eyes, I'm saving $600, if don't get the prescription lens. However, using contact lenses with these glasses almost feel like I'm "dumbing down" the value of the glasses, because I think I may fall in the trap of not using them as often.
