Need advice for Audi Etron expensive repair

Vehicles - Etron SUV OG

Looking for advice about a repair issue on our Audi e-tron. We purchased a used e-tron from a non-Audi dealership in Tampa (Kuhn Volkswagen). When we bought it, the check engine light was already on. The dealership told us it was nothing serious and that it just needed to be reset with Audi’s diagnostic tools but it had been serviced /inspected recently and there was nothing wrong with it.
About 5 to 7 weeks later, the charging cord got stuck in the port. A tech from Audi dealership came out and helped us. It's been very finicky ever since sometimes getting stuck and we have to pry the charger from the port with like a screwdriver. 5 weeks ago, the car stopped charging completely and showed the turtle warning light. We had it towed to Audi Clearwater for diagnosis.

They diagnosed it as a charging port actuator failure and quoted about $2,500 to repair it. Chat gpt said that there were technical service bulletin for the same issue I'm having so it seems common, does that give me any leverage to ask for goodwill assistance from Audi USA?

The car only has less than 58,000 miles. We've only had it since like July . Audi Clearwater gave us a rental while they diagnosed it, but now they’re asking how we want to proceed with the repair or they will transfer bill for the rental ( which I understand)

We got the full diagnostic report (ODIS GFF log) by email.

A few questions I’m trying to figure out: • Would a charging port actuator normally be covered under the high voltage battery warranty (8 years / 100k miles)?

•is there any way to see when the fault codes first appeared? • If the check engine light was already on when we bought the car, do we have any leverage with the dealership that sold it to us? • Has anyone else had this actuator failure on an Audi e-tron? Just trying to figure out our options because we can’t really afford a $2k+ repair right now. Any advice would be appreciated.
