Is it weird if a guy says “Welcome” after a girl says “Thank you”?
I need your thoughts on something that’s been bugging me the last 30 minutes. I’ve realized that I’ve used the phrase “You’re welcome” in a pretty casual context, specifically when a girl says “Thank you” to me. This happens often, and the thing is, it’s usually with someone I’m either dating, used to date, or have a bit of a crush on so, it’s not like a formal situation.
Here’s the thing: Over the last 2-3 years (maybe even longer), I’ve caught myself saying “You’re welcome” a handful of times to one person in particular. And now, I’m second-guessing it. Is it weird or awkward to say “Welcome” back when someone says “Thank you” in these kinds of situations?
It’s not like we’re in a formal setting, but I’m wondering if it might come off a little strange or offbeat, especially in a casual or semi-romantic relationship. Do you guys think this is odd or does it come off as normal? I’d love to hear your perspective on this! Thanks!
