How to fix Jack Socket

I had two bass guitars but one was smashed into pieces. So now I'm stuck with the only one however The Jack socket will not hold the cable in at all. When I practice I basically tie the cable around the guitar just so it doesn't fall off. Can I fix this at home or do I have to invest in some sort of tool?
