Residency preceptors

Preceptors

Hot Take: ASHP needs to make it a requirement that a preceptor completed a residency in order to be a residency preceptor. I get it in the beginning there weren't enough people with residencies to fulfill that requirement, but it is different now. You cant be a good preceptor without walking in the shoes of a resident. Idc if you have 5 years or more of experience. We have people out here acting as preceptors telling residents not to do residency or go onto PGY2 because they play the "look at me i made it without residency" card. No! Not ok!
