Does import/export settings update?

Everytime I switch device or update app I just copy my settings and important them on next installation.

Sometimes they remove settings.
will it also be removed in the config or do I've stray deprecated settings now I'll have to sort out someday?

I've like 50 lines of settings and honestly hope they get updated instead of me having to search out the outdated ones
