I plan to buy another MacBook since I'm upgrading from 2017 mac air. Is getting MacBook air m4 overkill for basic browsing and using it while traveling?

I used a friend MacBook air m4 and it's great. The screen gets very bright, has long battery life and stays cool. Those are things i would be looking for when buying a new mac. I'm looking for long battery life, good cooling and bright screen as I will be traveling with it a lot. I don't mind buying used.
