Game Design Dilemma: Emotion Through Glowing Eyes Only, or a Visible Human Face?
Hello, We are a team of three developing a game, and we are paying close attention to our main character. We want the character to convey emotions, and we are planning to express these emotions using only the eyes. However, there is one issue we cannot decide on: Should the player clearly see that the character is human, or should that remain hidden? The character is wearing a technological suit, and we currently have two alternatives. We are unsure which one we should choose: Red-eyed character: We are considering expressing emotions only through the eyes, such as the eyes widening when the character is scared or giving a sharp stare when the character is angry. Human character: In this option, the character’s face is visible, making it easier to convey emotions through full facial expressions (the character is representative).
