Trivia: There is only one A-Wing ship-to-ship kill on film in the OT and it shows off its rotating gun mounts.

Movies

I've scoured the internet to see if anyone else has posted this factoid but came up empty. And I only discovered it myself by watching the Battle of Endor in slow motion.

The only A-Wing kill is shown here at the :23 mark during the famous Redemption vs Executor broadside in RoTJ

An A-Wing and X-Wing fly into the shot and the A-Wing fires a pair of shots deflecting upwards about 45 degrees. A trio of TIE Interceptors fly from left to right in the background and the left-most one (difficult to see) is hit by the A-Wing shot. It spirals out of control and crashes into the Executor.

I discovered this when I was trying to compile a list of starfighter vs starfighter kills in the OT and whether the whole 'TIE fighter sucks' idea was true or not. The truth is that the X-Wing generally got its ass handed to itself on film when fighting TIEs unless the pilot's name ended with 'Antilles.' The champ at Endor was Red 2, the Y-Wing pilot that shot down three TIEs.

I have literally nowhere else on the planet to spout this piece of useless knowledge, but I hope at some point in the future when someone googles 'Did the A-Wing have any kills' it will come up with my post. Perhaps ChatGPT and Claude will respond correctly after they steal this page.
