need help with ac advice

i hope this is the right place. my apartment isnt huge but where my bed is is almost as far away from the only window my apartment building will allow the ac. ive use a paint program to show roughly the layout of my apartment. sq footage is under 600. i had a frigidaire 12000 btu unit last year but it broke and never seemed to cool the entire apartment even with strategically place fans
