Loogink for a "plan for the contingency" game?
I’m looking for games where the core loop involves identifying multiple looming threats and coming up with open-ended, creative ways to mitigate them. I love the "plan for disaster" vibe where you know something is going to go wrong, and you have to build the infrastructure or systems to handle the fallout. I wanna be the guy in the movie saying "I've been preparing for this my whole life"
I’m already very familiar with RimWorld and Dwarf Fortress. They hit the nail on the head regarding emergent storytelling and complex systems, but I’m looking to expand my horizons.
What I’m looking for:
- Multiple, overlapping threats: Not just one big boss, but environmental, internal, and external pressures.
- Creative Problem Solving: I want to be able to "engineer" a solution rather than just picking a binary choice in a menu.
- I can only think of base building games, but any other genre is welcome
