You ever had an amazing run that started with loads of great relics just end because of one bad fight?

I'm quite new to the game. Only recently started playing the first game.

I was getting some amazing mystery relics early, a few really good relics from the merchant and the elites, two of the 3 cards I was hoping for.. and then I ran into that fucker that puts an unplayable card in your deck for every non attack card you use. And I was mid build on pure defence deck and it just flooded my deck with so many of those cards that I was drawing 5 unplayable cards a turn.
