Impacted canine
Hello, Please share your experience and thoughts with me. I am almost 38 years old F. I have a palatally impacted right canine (#6) that is scheduled for complete extraction. My surgeon explained that the tooth is positioned very close to the nasopalatine nerve and that he may need to cut this nerve in order to remove the impacted canine. He also mentioned that if the nerve is cut, part of the area may remain permanently numb.
(I will need to extract the impacted canine in order to put braces to fix my upper midline)
Has anyone experienced this type of situation? If so, how does the numbness feel long term, and how does it affect psychologically? Does it bother? I am also thinking to expose and bring it down in it's own place but I have no space left and they told me I have to extract another tooth to make room which is not worth for me.
