Trying to find an analog horror series

I think the premise is that there’s an entity that erases people from the world and leaves them to wander it like ghosts. The thing I remember most distinctly is a video that was of a dark basement(?) and eventually after waiting a while a cat runs by the camera and shakes it. If I remember right it’s revealed that the ghost of a little boy was staring at us from the basement the entire time. I think he appeared in an earlier video at a birthday party.

Anybody know what I’m talking about?
