Issue with decant I bought, but not sure if it’s me?
Hi everyone!
A year and some change ago I smelled a fresh newly opened bottle of Muglers Aura eau de parfum. I loved it, but couldn’t afford it at the time (now I wish I’d just bought it).
It was fresh and cucumber-y and just lovely. I had been trying to find a scent dupe for Odeles blue marine scent, and although this wasn’t exact, it was still nice.
Fast forward, and I bought a decant from a second hand site last week. The seller had bought this decant second hand as well, so I’m not blaming them at all.
At any rate, I went to smell it, and it smelled NOTHING like I remembered. It was VERY powdery and heavy floral, very dated, almost like if you mixed a generic early 2000’s perfume with an old lady scent.
Here’s my issue, is that what it actually smelled like and my memory is just bad? Or did the decant I get age poorly? Or is this a cheap perfume that was passed off as being an actual mugler perfume? Should I get a much more expensive sample from a verified scent decant website to make sure I wasn’t duped?
And if anyone has any recommendations for a perfume that is a feminine version of grey flannel by Geoffrey beane that would be great.
Thanks!
