Rome and the coast recommendations

Flying into Rome July 4th-16th. We are three adults and one 4 year old. We would like to spend some time in Rome and then the coast. How would you divide your days and where would you recommend to stay? We would like to spend the majority of our days by the coast but we don’t mind visiting two or three places by the coast.
