I wanna cry wtf man
Public lobby. I don't really played ranked these days because they put me in servers with severe latency. Was bored so matched against randoms to train with Ghost.
Matched against a corkscrew. Didn't see stats he just came and stood in the white box and the match started. Nothing noteworthy, base berserk gloves, default free outfit and... MANFACE. So I was slightly alarmed but decided not to let it get to me. I mean the match just started. I went in and played close, following the advice of a certain Slugger main (casual AnyFee reference) and after a few exchanges I gradually got his habit in and took the lead.
First kd with me at 70% health. The next round. His heavies were concerning and he got me to 50% in the first approach itself. I stuck to infighting for the first few seconds and got the counters in, dropping him to 60% before he perfect dodged and landed his ult.
This round I mostly outboxed and in a rush mistakenly landed my ult after a pd with him only at 20% health, finishing the round there. I was likely at about ≤45%.
I realised he was playing it safe and really stopped committing to close quarters. And uhh let's say my adhd got the better of me again. I was mostly like "ahh... (Enter some random shit because my subconscious installed that I was about to win)."
And holy crap it's so annoying, most encounters people be dodging the ghost jab completely unintentionally. It's so annoying. And it takes quite the time to fill up too. So I got him down on 70% before getting kded that round.
And in the last round. He fucking started playing passive. It was mostly chasing him around because he was looking for the pds. It was so frustrating. I ended up overcommitting a couple of times and getting countered. He just landed a few punches and ran away, slowly chipping away my health. I'm not the best player, I'll be honest and it really broke my tempo and I had to improvise there. I knew I had to get close enough to get the shots in. Feinted a couple of times because I realised he was dodging early and landed the chains, drawing him to to 15%. I couldn't get that blessed pd for myself to finish the fight yet though. But how long could I do that? I mean yeah, maybe someone better could've done better. And boom finally one of his dodges worked and well he ulted me, finishing the match at 10% while I was somewhere around ≥40%.
I was just like "Ah great." I was genuinely pissed and wanted a rematch no matter what but he left too.
Fuck em manfaces. Why use manface. Oh my God.
Manface? I hate manface. They locked me in a ring. A foam canvas ring with manfaces. And manfaces make me crazy.
Anyways I lost because I wasn't good enough, I accept it. I just wished these sorts of playstyles weren't so rewarding. It's just a rant/vent post. If I recorded it y'all would've seen it either way. Peace.
