By bf doesn't like the office and I want to redeem it!

My bf doesn't like the office, because he doesn't like Steve Carell, but I showed him the office fire episode and he really liked it, so I know he'll like it. I tried starting from the beginning, but you know the office doesn't really get good until season 2. Should I start him with season 2, and miss all the character introductions, or does anyone have a good episode to start with? I don't know if he'll put up with a whole season of meh episodes.
