Workplace legal advice regarding travel pay (England)
So new job, and new contract is very broad and apparently not the correct one (although this depends on who you ask) theres nothing mentioning terms of use with a works van including maintenance and pay to that regard. Previous companies take an hour off your trip, and pay you normally the rest of the way, (including time and ½) this company has absolutely nothing mentioned.
I got my pay stub, seems pretty close in how many hours I did, 60 hours a week due to 4 hours travelling each day and an 8 hour work day, however there is no time and ½, I need to do a double check to see if they have deducted the hour from it as also mentioned. They also mentioned pay whilst driving is less at £10 an hour (im 22 so below minimum wage)
Only worked for this company for a month and I keep finding little red flags like how my start time is 8:30 but they push you to get there for 8:00 (which i get but its a pain when you're doing 60 miles to site and traffic is unpredictable) also the company thing is if you scratch my back, I scratch yours... basically guys not putting in their overtime in hopes of getting it good with the bosses
My question to reddit is as follows.
If there is nothing in my contract, and my workplace is different each day, should driving a company vehicle be considered working and therefore I should be paid door to door? Including time and ½ if I go over 8 hours each day?
