No birthday gifts please

Didn’t know where to post this but…

My son (5) got invited to a birthday party & invite says “no gifts please , your presence is a present” but i hate showing up to places empty handed. Is it rude to get a small gift?

I feel like child’s parent just doesn’t want people to feel pressure to buying a gift to attend the party but not buying a gift goes against everything I believe in lol
