Will I be fined if I bring prohibited food into the EU?
I am going on a ski trip to France, and grabbed a bunch of food to bring as the french resorts are so expensive. Of these items, I bought cheese and other meats, which I have since come to understand is now banned (thanks Brexit).
Among searching various sources, I've heard everything from 'they don't care for small amounts' to 'big no no, don't do it,' but no word on what happens if they confiscate something. If it's as simple as 'you can't have this, we're binning it' then fair game, I don't mind and will happily chance it. If it's deeper and I'll get a fine if they find something, I won't. Does anyone know what the standard process is?
