Semi-hollow as my only electric 🎸 — Fine or Bad Idea?

QUESTION

So I've been playing for many years but I gave away my electric guitars when I last moved. I'm now in the market for a new guitar and finally have some decent money to spend on a mid-tier guitar. I used to play SG, LP and Strat styles, but have recently taken a liking to the warmer hollowbody tone.

I've been eyeing up the PRS SE Special Semihollow, but am unsure if it would be wise to purchase a hollow-body as my only electric. It might be years before I am able to buy another new guitar. What do you think? Is it smart to have a semihollow as my only electric? Is there music I can't play on a hollowbody? Will I regret this decision later?

For reference, I've played acoustic for decades, so I think I might be well suited to playing this style. Furthermore, some of my favorite bands are punk, post-punk and stoner rock bands that play hollowbodies. These genres can also be played with LPs, of course, but I just really love that warm, airy, mid-heavy tone that only hollowbodies seem to offer.
