A broad and punishing selloff swept Wall Street on Friday as two headwinds hit simultaneously: a shocking jobs report and escalating energy price pressure from the Iran conflict. February's nonfarm payrolls printed a loss of 92,000 jobs — a stark miss against expectations of 55,000 added — reigniting stagflation fears just as oil topped $89 per barrel. The Dow bore the brunt, shedding over 1,100 points on the session.
For long-time subscribers, today's activity should feel familiar rather than alarming. The portfolio had grown quite large, and as those of you who have followed us for a while know — when a portfolio reaches this size, a good cleansing is on the horizon. That is exactly what we are seeing now. This is a healthy and necessary process. We need a pullback to reset and set up the next wave of buying opportunities. The capital we are freeing up today is the ammunition for tomorrow's trades.
The headline of the day is COHR, which we closed for a remarkable +121% gain. XPO contributed +25% and ATMU added +10%. These are the wins that define a disciplined trading approach. The losses taken today were necessary housekeeping — positions that were not meeting our criteria. With over $66,000 now sitting in cash, we are extraordinarily well-positioned for what comes next.
