Slip cover for walking stick
Hello, all!
I have been gifted a very special walking stick (if you are into British military stuff, it’s a Pace Stick). To protect it while traveling, I’d like to make a slip cover. The gist of the design I’d like is to have a reinforce bottom, long enough for the entire stick to slide in, and the top to fold over with a tie string to keep it closed. I have leather from a large collection of upholstery samples for the reinforcing, and a ridiculous amount of blue duck (roughly 10oz weight). Does anyone have a pattern, or bullet point instructions on how to put one together?
I can sew reasonably straight lines, and i have a ‘63 Singer that can punch through a LOT of fabric. The ‘how to put it together’ is escaping me, though.
Thanks!
Rob
