Bought lead lists feel like a scam… what are you guys using instead?
Not gonna lie, I’m getting tired of the whole “buy a list and go outbound” thing.
Every time I try it, the list looks decent for like 5 minutes… then reality hits. Wrong industries, wrong locations, generic inboxes, bounces, random companies that clearly aren’t a fit. And you never really know where the emails even came from, which is sketchy when someone asks.
Also, deliverability is brutal. You can write a good message and still get cooked if you send too much or your list is trash. Then your emails start going to spam and it’s like… cool, I just paid to damage my own domain.
I started testing CorporateOS recently because I wanted something more “controlled” than just another outreach tool. It basically helps you build your own lead pipeline based on your criteria, gives leads scoring so you’re not guessing who’s worth contacting, and it keeps proof links for where the contact data came from. The sending is approval-first too, so nothing goes out unless you ok it, and it has limits/stop rules so you don’t accidentally nuke deliverability.
I’m still early, but it feels way closer to a repeatable system than “buy list, pray, repeat.”
Curious what others are using for this. Are you still buying lists, scraping yourself, using Apollo/Clay type stacks, or something else entirely?
