UPI made payments easy but tracking spending is still messy

Most of my daily spending now happens through UPI — food, fuel, random QR payments.

But when the month ends, I honestly have no idea where my money went.

Bank apps show transaction lists, but not clear spending categories.

Manual expense tracking apps work for a few days… then I stop using them.

So I started building a small Android tool that automatically detects UPI transaction SMS and turns them into a simple monthly spending dashboard.

No bank login.

No manual entry.

Just curious if others feel the same problem.

How do you currently track UPI spending?
