Dreadblade Harrows sub assembly question

If I sub assemble the horse and rider separately, as in fully glue-prime-paint, is the rider flexible enough to still push fit onto the horse? Or will I need to clip off the pegs and glue it that way? Just wondering if anyone has experience trying it. I'm almost done with the Spearhead and these are my last two models.
