Overbite

Hi everyone, I’d appreciate some honest advice from owners.

I’m about to get a 13-week-old Pomeranian who is very small (around 690 g). The breeder recently told me he has a mild overbite (about 2–3 mm) where the lower jaw sits slightly behind the upper. She showed me videos of his teeth and he eats normally and closes his mouth properly.

She also said she understands if I change my mind and has reduced the price because of the bite.

I’m not planning to show or breed him he would just be a pet but I’m wondering:

• If a Pom has a 2–3 mm overbite at 13 weeks, is it likely to stay the same or can it get worse as adult teeth come in?

• Have any of you had puppies where the bite improved or stayed mild?

• Would you still go ahead or pull out?

I’d be happy if it stays mild and doesn’t worsen, but I’m trying to make a sensible decision before committing.
