Customer asked why our tool is better than just prompting Claude to do the same thing
Fair question and one that comes up more often now. Our product helps teams manage and track customer feedback across multiple channels. The customer's argument was that they could paste feedback into Claude, ask it to categorize and summarize, and get roughly the same output for the cost of a Claude subscription.
They're right about the capability and wrong about the value. Claude can absolutely analyze text and produce summaries. What it can't do without significant manual effort is maintain ongoing context across months of feedback, automatically connect to the sources where feedback arrives, track patterns over time, alert you when specific themes spike, and integrate with the product management tools where you actually act on insights.
The one-time analysis is easy to replicate with AI. The continuous operational workflow is where the SaaS product earns its subscription. I've started framing our product differently in response to this objection. Less "we help you analyze feedback" which now sounds like something any AI can do, and more "we make sure no customer feedback falls through the cracks across your entire operation." The capability framing invites comparison to AI. The operational outcome framing doesn't because the value is in the system, not any individual analysis.
