Lucy Medina is a defendant who could easily end up with an indifferent defense attorney, one who is overworked and lacks a passion for the excellent work attorneys can do when they care about the work.

We didn't get to see enough of Brennan's work on this case, but just his opening and closing statements were incredibly moving. The humanity he brings to his work, is inspiring. This was a hard case for me to watch. I've witnessed domestic violence. It's a tough subject.

But today, a woman who it appears deserved to be acquitted was.

And from everything I can tell, Brennan did a masterful job of representing her.

In an interesting twist, I believe Brennan was championing a murdered man, who was a victim of domestic abuse when he prosecuted Karen Read. Brennan never stated this, but it is my impression that John O'Keefe's death was the result of long term domestic abuse, turned violent.

And today Brennan got an acquittal for a woman who was abused for years, decades. I hope she finds the help and healing she will no doubt require.

Something good happened today. And we should all be grateful to the honest, excellent attorneys who operate with integrity in our criminal justice system. They often go unappreciated and unsung.

Though I had a difficult time no tearing up, I was glad to witness this victory today.
