Why is Mercor holding onto my application for so long? (expert level position)

I've applied for several roles through Mercor, and generally have been rejected within a month or so. However, there is one expert level position that really fits my background that I believe I originally applied for in December. I was really excited about it, it would have been a dream project. But several times over since then they have put up the ad for the same role, accepted applications for a few weeks, closed applications, then a few weeks later started advertising it again...rinse and repeat for months now. They have yet to reject me. I almost wish they would just do that and stop letting me hold out hope. What could be going on here, and has anyone experienced similar. It's been WAAAYYY more than 4 weeks.
