Why still no hint of a Gladiator prequel?

I have created a Reddit profile (long time listener, first time caller) for one purpose and one purpose only. That is to ask:

WHY is there still NOT a multi-season HBO Gladiator sequel epic ’Shadows and Dust’ with a young Oliver Reed / Prospero character. Twists and turns of political intrigue and Roman life, love and war. Tracing the story of how he won his freedom. It would be huge.
