Is the spoiler I got too important? Is it the main twist or plot point in the game?

I asked yesterday about the spoiler I had heard, but some asshole went into my DM and actually corrected the fucking spoiler, so now I think I know exactly what it is.

The spoiler I received was: >!The character you play in the prologue is the ShadowLord!<
