Really agonizing between the RG34XXSP and the trimui Brick

:Dpadd:Recommend a Device

So first, I'll explain my use case. My line of work has busy periods followed by long stretches of downtime. I'd love something small and inconspicuous that can be easily suspended when I need to get back to work. I really like the idea of a clamshell that could quick snap shut and go into a pocket or bag. I have smaller hands, so I'm not turned off by small devices.

Game-wise, I'd mostly be playing retro titles, but it would be nice to have some lighter options via Portmaster (ie. Balatro). Some N64 and PS1 would be nice. The RG34XXSP is really tempting with the sticks -- I'd love to play some Starfox 64. However, I have seen the criticisms of the SP's screen being a little too small for 3:4 content. Is it really bothersome in practice? The trimui Brick display seems like a better system all-rounder, at the expense of the clamshell and sticks. I had also looked at the RG40XXV, but I think it's a bit too large for my purposes.

Complicating all this are the leaks of the upcoming trimui horizontal clamshell. This seems like it would be exactly what I'm looking for. I don't quite want to step up to a Retroid Flip 2, for example.

Budget-wise, anything under $100 is a slam dunk, but I wouldn't mind going up to the $150 range to cover all my bases.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
