Starting schooling

Start at 5 or 6 years old? I’m leaning toward homeschool. Playschool is starting to push kindergarten and they are talking as if having him come back for another two days a week for socialization next year when he’s freshly 5 isn’t a good idea. I personally feel like 5 is too young for super structured education - they are still children and should learn through intentional play and discussion - not sitting behind a desk for 7 hours a day.
