Tell me your Labour story!!

I know you can have contractions for weeks and a lot of it is Braxton hicks. But generally how will you know it’s real? Everyone says you’ll know but yet there’s stories about not knowing until it’s too late lol. Tell me your labour stories!! When contractions started or even before , water breaking and just your story in general. FTM 38 weeks myself!
