Can I get a 12 month sport offer as a new customer?

Been looking to get a now tv sport subscription but I kept seeing people saying “hold out until just before the F1 season starts”.

Well it’s now the 6th, the Australian practice races have started and I still cant get this offer. Everyone else I’m seeing talking about it online that have got this offer seem to be existing customers - seeing a lot of people saying the same thing. Something like “had an existing subscription, went to cancel and was offered £20 for 12 months”. Have seen absolutely nobody saying they just signed up and got it as a new customer. Have seen a few people saying they didn’t threaten to cancel, but got a renewal email instead though.

So my question is, if I’m not an existing customer, if it just not possible to get this offer? I can get £20 a month for 6 months, but not 12.

Am I better to just jump in and take the 6 months, threaten to cancel in 6 months time and hopefully get another 6 month offer, then this time next year because I’ll have an existing subscription then maybe I’ll get the offer email to get the price for 12 months going forward and just keep that rolling and renew each year if I want?

Keen to hear other people’s experiences and any advice. Thanks!
