Unresponsive Controls Are Driving Me Crazy

I got this game on sale about five days ago and I'm having fun with it but the unresponsive controls make me wanna rage quit sometimes.

During rallies, I'll be in the perfect spot for a return, and I'll hit a button, the shot meter will appear and everything, and my player will literally let the ball bounce off of him.

This happens like 10 times a match.

During dropshot returns, I'll run up, be in a perfect spot to return and nothing happens.

Is this an issue for anyone else or am I just doing something wrong?
