Artist looking for recommendations.

I am visiting town for a convention at the end of the month and am looking for art things to do. I want to see arts districts, check out galleries, eat great food, drink good coffee, and shop local. No budget. I already have the museum on my list and a reservation at Vicia. What else should I hit?

A few other questions:

How bikeable is downtown? I ride in urban areas daily, but is it worth flying with my bike?
Any streets with cool shops I should check out?
Is the Contemporary Art Museum actually closed?
