Post Requiem
My thoughts post Requiem and where the story could go. I know the fanbase likes variety with the legacy heroes, however since the soft reboot era of Biohazard in 2017, Chris Redfield has been at the tip of the spear regarding the unseen game of geopolitics. Resident Evil 10, if continuing this direction, will bring The Connections era to a head.
The Connections has been the shadow villain since Biohazard, and though they've been ahead, they're coming to an end of an era. In Requiem it's established that The Connections have been pulling the strings in the geopolitics of Resident Evil.
At the start of Requiem it's shown that the US has pulled out of the Bio-weapons treaty, and later on it's noted that things are happening within the BSAAs North American branch. It's likely that The Connections are responsible for the US pulling out of the treaty which has caused fracturing within the BSAA NA. The reason is because they believed Elpis was a revolutionary bio-weapon and staged the board proactively. The irony is that Elpis was the exact opposite of what they hoped for and are going to scramble to get ahead, however Chris and his Houndwolves are already on the hunt. It's my speculation that this narrative will be the focal point of Resident Evil 10.
I want to talk about a 6 Remake as well. First we know Capcom is going to have to do a lot of reworking in both gameplay and story. I think narratively the best decision is to change Simmons' "family" to The Connections. As Zeno reveals The Connections were responsible for the missile strike on Raccoon and silenced Adam Benford through Simmons via the C-Virus to prevent him from telling the truth behind Raccoon. Therefore I just feel it'd make sense to rewrite "The Family" into The Connections since we don't know anything about "The Family" anyway.
(Note. I know Adam Benford, Derek Simmons, and the C-Virus are not explicitly stated. However that is the implication behind Zeno's words.)
Let me know what you guys think.
