got a job

Success

little update, i managed to get a job after 700 applications and 8 months of looking following college graduation. i will be working as a cashier (“team member”) at a local Burger King. i got in because of a connection to my previous job, where i was working like 8 hours per week, so i guess all of this online applications were just a waste of time. anyway, im grateful for this position as now i have a little more security that if i get kicked out by my parents, but im also scared to work 40 hours per week.

im not trying to sound ungrateful, im truly thankful and relieved that i managed to get something, but i feel like such a loser that im the first person in my family to get a college education, especially one in the USA, and im literally working at Burger King. like it feels like the college degree didn’t give me any social mobility, that was sort of just a lie hammered into me, and im straight back to being poor again for the rest of my life
